OCTOBER 3RD - 4TH:  BOST GRIST MILL EVENT:  This event will be rescheduled for Nov7 & 8th . Jack Reyome will be coordinating this event and will be bringing 4 lathes for demos.  As discussed at the last meeting, this is a wonderful event and the family puts on a great barbecue that evening for those that attend.  You will also be able to bring some of your turned pieces to sell if you would like to do that.  Jack will need volunteers to help.  Please contact him at 704-792-1336 or at


Saturday, October 10th - Open Studio: Our open studio will be from 10:00 - 4:00 pm on Saturday and in addition to doing some turning, we will be tearing down the lathes and giving them some much needed attention.  We will also be cleaning up the club and reorganizing wherever possible.  We have a couple of lights that might need replacement, lighting needs to be repositioned so we can make it brighter on the lathe and be able to turn down the main lights to avoid glare on the screen.  Please come out and join us.


Tuesday, October 20th - Regular Club Meeting: The club meeting will start at 6:30.  The demonstrator will be announced at a later date.  The Turner of the Month will be John Morris.


Workshop - Friday Evening October 23rd and Saturday October 24th:  Mark Waninger will be conducting our last workshop of the year and will be joining us from Jamestown Indiana for a Friday evening demo and Saturday classes. The demo will be 6:30 - 9:00 Friday evening and will be on Segmented Turning Simplified.  The Saturday workshop will be 9:00 - 5:00 and there will be there will be two sessions available on coloring your turnings.   ( ) FOR DETAILS



NC Greensboro Symposium - November 6th - 8th:  We are supporting Jimmy Clewes in our room. We need people to sign up for the 9 rotations that will take place. We need a camera operator and a person to assist the turner if needed. You will assist Jimmy for a couple of hours. Jimmy Clewes  is pleasure to watch and you can get up close if you volunteer.


November Club Meeting:  We will be having a mini symposium at our regular club meeting in November.  If you have something that you would like to see demonstrated or if you would like to be one of the demonstrators for that event, please let me know.
