HAPPY NEW YEAR!
A Word From Our President
It is a new year and it promises to be another great one for our SPW ‘club’. I hope your holidays were full of good thoughts and family memories. Looking into this year Barry has lined up another great group of turners for us to get to know and experience their skills. And in fact we start off with one of our own such turners, Barry.
The Day-at-the-Lathe scheduled for Saturday April 4th brings us 3 turners with exceptional talents and great personalities. Bob prepared a single page handout we will use to attract friends from the turning community. Several of our vendors will include these with their customer orders . . . Thank you. Also please note the exceptional web page for DAL information and a viewers ability to register and purchase a ticket April provided.
Please start this new year by joining us at our first meeting Tuesday evening at 7. See you there!

Our January Demonstrator is our very own Barry Russell
This will be another great demonstration. To kick off the 2009 year SPW member Barry Russell will talk and demonstrate basic bowls and in his own words:
“I am going to try to unite a lot of information and tips I have gotten from people like Dale Larson, Lyle Jamieson, Todd Hoyer, and David Lancaster into a little different way of approaching the bowl.” . . . for additional detail click here.
Special Turning Raffle – December 2008
Happy New To All! _thumb.jpg)
Well, in December, lady luck visited again and she must have a thing for new member, Scott Turner. Scott won the Special Raffle in November and in December, won the beautiful pepper mill fashioned by our fearless leader, Jerry Measimer. Jerry, "I've just been turning a couple of days" crafted a stunning piece from Purpleheart, Maple and Walnut. Say what you want, everything taste better with fresh, whole cracked pepper. Scott, congratulations! And, Jerry, thank you for all you do for the spirit of our group and its hands on operation.

Decembers’ Demonstrator
Robert Lyon was our December demonstrator. His work with Sculptural Forms is fascinating and we all came away with new incite. THANK YOU Robert.

Decembers’ Gallery

We are getting great Galleries each month, so continue to bring your work and let us share in your story.
